Grading Explained

Third-party grading authenticates and assigns a numeric grade based on centering, corners, edges, and surface. Higher grade = higher value.

Professional Sports Authenticator. The most liquid market for vintage and modern Pokémon.

1 – 10 (Gem Mint 10)

Certified Guaranty Company. Known for strict centering standards and Pristine 10 designation.

Grade Reference

Gem Mint 10Perfect or near-perfect on every criterion. The benchmark.

Mint 9Minor imperfection — often slight centering or print issue.

NM-MT 8A small but visible flaw. Still display-worthy.

NM 7Noticeable wear, but well-preserved overall.

EX 5–6Played condition. Light edge wear, surface marks.

≤ 4Heavy play, often acquired for rarity over condition.
